Good evening, North Wilkes Community. This is Ms. Sorel with a few announcements for the upcoming week.
Athletics
Basketball Cheer Practice will take place after school on Monday, September 21st, and Wednesday, September 23rd, until 5:30 pm. On Tuesday, September 22nd, the Golf Team will be at Silo Run with a start time of 3 pm, and Volleyball/Soccer will have their away game at Forbush. Volleyball/Soccer will play at home against WWMS on Thursday, September 24th. Students should wear Jaguar gear to support our home game and can get a dollar off admission to the game if they are wearing it. Football will play at Alleghany on Saturday, September 26th. Good luck to all of our athletes and their coaches this week.
Q1 Progress Reports
Students will take home Quarter 1 Progress Reports on Wednesday, September 23rd.
Book Fair
The last day of the school Book Fair will be on Thursday, September 24th. The link to the Book Fair and online shopping is available on the NWMS website.
Fall Make-Up Pictures
Carolina Photography will be at NWMS for Fall make-up pictures on Monday, October 5th.
The make-up day QR code is no longer valid, but parents can still submit paper flyers at the camera or order online using the access code provided on proofs sent to the school after picture day.
NWMS Fundraiser
NWMS will be holding a fundraiser at Applebee's on October 15th. This will last all day. All you need to do is tell your waiter you are there to support North Wilkes Middle School, and 25% of your total bill will go toward the school.
Wilkes County Youth Survey
Students brought home the Wilkes County Youth Survey Consent Form the first week of school. This form allows students to participate in the survey. All students who participate in the survey can receive prizes and be entered into drawings. The due date to complete the forms is Friday, October 16th. If you did not complete the form, there is a link provided in your email version of the announcements.
No School/Required Teacher Workday
On Friday, September 25th, there will be no school for students. This is a Required Teacher Workday for all faculty and staff.
