Good evening, North Wilkes Community. This is Ms. Sorel with a few announcements for the upcoming week.
Athletics
Volleyball/Soccer will play at home against Alleghany on Monday, September 28th and again on Thursday, October 1st against Ashe. Students are encouraged to wear neon in support of players on Monday and pink for Breast Cancer Awareness on Thursday (with a dollar off of admission). Golf will be at Oakwoods at 3 pm on Tuesday, September 29th. Girls’ Basketball Open Gym Workouts will take place from 6:45 to 8 pm on Tuesday, September 29th. Football will play against EWMS on Saturday, October 3rd at NWHS. Good luck to players and coaches this week.
Bus Ridership
The Wilkes County Schools annual school bus ridership reporting week is September 28th - Oct. 2nd. Our district transportation annual funding from the state is determined by the number of students who ride a school bus during this time period. The district wanted to bring awareness to these dates as you make transportation decisions for the upcoming week for your child.
Fall Make-Up Pictures
Carolina Photography will be at NWMS for Fall make-up pictures on Monday, October 5th.
The make-up day QR code is no longer valid, but parents can order online using the access code provided on proofs sent to the school after picture day.
NWMS Fundraiser
NWMS will be holding a fundraiser at Applebee's on October 15th. This will last all day. All you need to do is tell your waiter you are there to support North Wilkes Middle School, and 25% of your total bill will go toward the school.
Wilkes County Youth Survey
Students brought home the Wilkes County Youth Survey Consent Form the first week of school. This form allows students to participate in the survey. All students who participate in the survey can receive prizes and be entered into drawings. The due date to complete the forms is Friday, October 16th. If you did not complete the form, there is a link provided in your email version of the announcements.
